Sports/Activity-Specific Movement Analysis

Complex movement can be difficult to assess, especialy when it occurs at high speed. The eyes and brain have limits, and the amount of data that you need to assess during these movements can be significant.

The solution: Technology

I use two pieces of equipment to record movement (kinematics) and the forces produced during movement (kinetics):

  • a high speed camera, capable of recording up to 1200 frames per second;

Movement is analysed using software designed by Quintic, and positions can be mapped against our understanding of normal movement.

In this way, movements that differ from the expected normal can be identified and modified, if clinically appropriate.
